Silver at the World Championships!

From August 4 to 11, Sandra Kroon, our colleague, participated in the World Senior Badminton Championships in Katowice (Poland).

In the semi final, Sandra and her double partner Jeannette competed against the second-placed Irish couple Peard/Williams. During a very exciting match, the Dutch couple beat the Irish duo with 21-18 / 19-21 / 21-19. Next stop: finals!

Jeannette and Sandra (3/4) played the final against the unplaced German couple Kienitz / Teichmann. The Dutch ladies got off to a good start and were ahead a couple of points! At the end of the 1st game, the German couple unfortunately came back and won the game with 17-21. The Germans continued to play strongly in the 2nd game and the Dutch ladies lost with 11-21.

Obviously not the desired result, but still SILVER at a world championship! Very well done, something to be proud of!
